Tell me people, what is the deal with today's TV shows. We have 100's of channels and there is crap on. Besides The Learning Channel, History Channel and a small portion of others it seems as if the networks just regurgitate the same ol reality crap. Let's watch Jessica Simpson pinch a loaf, who cares for Pete's sake ( sorry if this offends you, Pete, where ever you are) Give me re runs of The Munsters, Adams Family, Dragnet, Archie Bunker, M*A*S*H, The Fact's Of Life, The A-Team, Gimmie A Break, Cheers, and I am set. What about you guys, what TV shows do you miss most? What current TV shows to you hate the most?

Yeah, I agree..... cartoons nowadays makes my head hurt. The framerate is like half of what it should be (29.97fps) so it makes the cartoon all jerky. Now, don't get me wrong, Hasbro in the 80's had framerate issues with G.I. Joe and Transformers, however, give them a break, it was the 80's. We now have personal computers with more than enough power to make a smooth scrolling animation. But the marketers just want to pump them out, and hope the revenue comes flowing in.

Well, I have mixed feelings on this one. I think that we look back on old t.v. with nostalgia, and nostalgia has a way of biasing our perspectives. In other words, not only did we like the shows, but they remind us of better days. My feeling is there are many good shows nowadays, just as many as back in "the day". And as far as the cartoons, seeing how most of them are just regurgitated versions of the shows we liked as kids, of course they suck. I'm hard pressed to come up with a remake that is better than the original.

Hopefully, one day soon there will be an end to all of this reality crap. I have been watching TV all night, and these reality shows are just a pain in my ass. WHo cares if "you are fired" by Martha Stewart or Donald Trump. (Donald, by the way, needs to fire his hair stylish for that god awful hairdo he is sporting, c'mon man, you have millions of dollars and you can't even get a decent haircut?) I am tired of seeing people stranded on an island, or eating maggots for money. Don't get me wrong, there are a handful of good shows out there that are reality shows. I think that Ghost Hunters of SFC is pretty entertaining ( not to be confused with Most Haunted which is a TERRIBLE ripoff of this reality show.) but, other than that, there aren't many shows out there that hold my interest. I am a classic channel surfer. That is, I watch a brief segment of the channel ( uslally about 10-15 sec.) and if it doen't hold my attention it is quickly changed. It drives otehrs that watch TV around me crazy. Maybe it is my short attention span. Anyway, another note that i have to bring up is Saturday morning cartoons. Every Sat for the past 3 weeks or so I have watched local TV and saw the cartoons that they have on nowadays and it is just plain sad. Now, I understand that with the cable and Sat. TV movement there are such options as Disney, Cartoon Network, and Nick JR in which parents can let children watch cartoons whenever they want. I can fondly remember as a kid waking up at the ass crack of dawn and eagerly awaiting the Sat. cartoon lineup. Sometimes I feel sorry for the children nowadays. What a bummer.
