I have been to a lot of punk shows lately and I have looked around at people feet ( don't ask me why) and I notice that the majority of people are wearing Chuck Taylors, or Sketcher's or Airwalks, etc. Whatever happened to going to your local surplus store and getting a pair of 20 eyes? If you have been in the pit before you CAN tell a difference when someone steps on your foot and u have a combat boot on versus a canvas shoe. Maybe there is a shortage of good boots out there. Maybe all we can seem to get are those nasty Desert Storm tan ones. If that is the case, there is always black spray paint at walmart for .79 a can!!! Someone bring back the wafflemakers damn it!!!!

Yeah, I have a pair of boots, but I usually only use them for work in the wintertime. They are heavy and bulky. I hate feeling like my feet are weighed down ( like I am on the face of a planet with a gravity 1.5 times the one of earth). I used to have a bad ass pair of gripfasts that went all the way up to my knees ( well damn near) but mice got to them and chewed the fuck out of them ( $200 down the drain ) I am sure that one of these days when I have a little bit of disposable income I will invest in another pair. I threw away the slip ons, now I am just wearing regular old tie up, low top shoes. What can I say.. With all of this information that all of you now have, feel free to send me an X mas present. I wear size 10.5!!!!

One of the first things I hear when I see people I knew back in high school is "Where are the combat boots?" I used to sleep with em But my late-20s motto is "Comfort over Fashion"...unless I'm going to a concert, in which case I bust open the shoe box of nostalgia to avoid getting my toes broken.

Mmmmmmmmmmm. You sleeping in combat boots... Sorry, my mind was in the gutter. I really should pick up another pair. I am finding that as I age my ankles are getting weaker and weaker and if I choose to stay in the pit for much longer I will have to have proper ankle support!

It's funny how much a little bit of gun oil on your boots can make a WORLD of difference.
