Ok,
So i could have put this soemwhere else, but i decided to put it here instead cuz I feel that skateboarding IS punk and I do not understand that after all of these years. It is still a crime around town to skateboard. Howard Park, The East Race, and just about every parking lot you go to still has the NO SKATEBOARDING signs up. I can remember a few years ago ( when I was still skating) going to the East Race with board in hand, dropping it down, moving about 50 ft only to be surrounded by cops on mountain bikes telling emt hat I was not allowed to skateboard, but if I wanted to I could rollerblade. Now, when they explained it to me I guess that it made sense. They said that people could lose their boards in the water when they fly out from under you , whereas the rollerblades are stuck to your feet. I still don't buy it, though. If you are willing tot ake the chance of skating there and losing your board, I don't understand why they wanna be douchebags and stop you. And having a couple of skate parks isn't enough. I would rather skate around town and enjoy the day then be stuck at a skate park feeling like a competitor instead of a resident.
Any thoughts?

Edited cuz I don't wanna hear the bullshit
I totally agree it's the gayest form of discrimination against youth by banning skating in public places. Whitey wonders why "teens today are always in trouble.." THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO!!! THEY'RE FRIGGIN BORED!! The powers that be might claim that every sanction they make is justifiable, but the ends are still the same- they close down every venue aimed towards youth, steal every activity, smack down on all loitering...it's like they want everyone under 21 to stay indoors and not be seen. I can remember being 15- I started drinking, drugging, etc. because there was NOTHING else to do..unless I wanted to play friggin miniature golf. Stop trying to make sense of this subject..do you think they give a crap if your board can fly out from underneath you? no. They just don't want to be bothered by the traffic, the noise, the commotion. That old adage- "children are to be seen and not heard" has been altered- "children are not to be seen NOR heard."

I remember getting chased out of Erskine plaza Martin's parking lot for skating ( and this was WAYYY before O'brien even thought about opening ), I am glad that they opened up a couple of skate parks in the area, but there are still places that you can't skateboard, and for the street skater that just sucks. The East Race is Off Limits, The Mishawaka River walk, and just about every parking lot in Michiana. What's up with that?!?!?!?!
